Seven years ago, just before Sweet Bloom opened, we were looking for a really nice coffee from Central America to add to our initial offering. We had tasted through a number of samples and were starting to lose hope, before our friend Edwin Martinez sent us a sample from his farm Finca Vista Hermosa - Huehue, Guatemala. One smell from his freshly ground coffee and we knew we had found the next addition.
Edwin sent us a sample from the Edlyna section (what Edwin would have been named had he been born a girl) of Vista Hermosa. The fragrance was so sweet and floral, and the cup was uber sweet with a gentle but bright orange acidity. In every way, this was a perfect coffee to compliment our name - Sweet Bloom.
Over the years our relationship with Edwin and fam has grown (we've hosted both Edwin Jr and Sr at meet the producer events), and we've been so grateful for the other producers Edwin has introduced us to, including Augusto Castillo.
Now, seven year later, we are delighted once again to offer a stellar selection from Vista Hermosa! This particular lot's toffee sweet fragrance transforms into flavors of tootsie roll, pink lady, and marzipan in the cup. For those of you wanting to taste some beautiful Sweet Bloom history, grab a bag and celebrate our oldest relationship coffee!
