We are thrilled, once again, to offer a wonderful lot from Augusto Castillo! Agusto and his farther Ronaldo are carrying on the legacy their grandfather, Oscar, started when he founded La Colomba y Annexos in 1958. We had the privilege of visiting La Colomba last year and were humbled by their hospitality - and delighted by the quality of coffee the Castillos are producing! Last year's and this year's lot comes from their annex farm, Miracerros, where coffee is grown at a whopping elevation of 6233 feet above sea level. Cooler nights, slower maturation, and careful processing lead to very sweet, complex coffee!  We have to say, the Castillos have outdone themselves with this years selection - it is stunning! The fragrance is super sweet with hints of vanilla, and in the cup we are getting mandarin and sweet apple. REALLY nice coffee and it just gets better as it cools!

We are also very excited and proud that Augusto will be visiting us in September as part of our meet the producer program! We'll be taking him around Denver to visit the cafes that serve his coffee, and he'll have a chance to tell his story to our retail and wholesale customers. If you are in the area, join us at the roastery 7:00 PM, Friday, Sep 20th! You won't regret it.
