We had the great privilege of visiting Augusto Castillo and family the last week of February this year.  The threat of a global pandemic was just simmering then. Looking back now, and with the reality of no travel any time soon, it makes this trip just that much sweeter. Warm hospitality, beautiful farms, and strengthening friendships are lasting memories that are just that much more cherished at the moment.

Our second offering from Augusto of 2020 (creatively named Lot 2) comes from the Castillo's farm, Colomba, just down the road from their other farm MiraCerros. Colomba is stunningly beautiful with towering green peaks surrounding the farm.  It is no wonder that Augusto's grandfather chose this location to begin one of the first coffee farms in Huehue!

Lot 2 starts off with a lovely soft floral fragrance off the grind. In the cup, we are tasting chocolate and nougat - reminiscent of a Toblerone, together with white grapes and golden raisins as it cools.  Special coffee grown by special people - enjoy!
