Don Teó – Natural

A natural processed coffee from Don Teó!

This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

We taste

berry compote, red grape, chocolate

...in this coffee.

“I have learned that producing a lot is good, but that producing quality is better, both go hand in hand, you have to produce a product that makes you wake up every day and feel proud.” We love these words from Teófilo Rodríguez, affectionately known as Don Teó in his community. Clearly Don Teó is adhering to his words and we are excited this year to share two lots with you – one honeyed, one natural.

With the fruit remaining on the seed much longer, the natural processed lot from Don Teó exhibits a darker fruit profile (compared to the honey processed lot). Fresh off the grind we are smelling berry compote.  In the cup, red grape predominates and is joined by a chocolatey mid-tone. Fruity for sure, but not overly fermented. If you love coffees with lots of fruit character, definitely give this natural a try!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
