Huehuetenango, Guatemala
Juana Cruz
From $19.00
A sweet, balanced cup from the esteemed growing region of Huehuetenango.
We taste
cocoa, caramel apple, white grape
...in this coffee.
Juana Cruz, together with her husband, Jose, have been growing coffee on their farm, El Chalun, for over 50 years! We are grateful they are now passing on their love of growing coffee to their children and together as a family, they continue to produce some of the best coffee Guatemala has to offer.
We had the fortune of tasting our first sample from El Chalun a few weeks ago and were really impressed with the sweet aromatics and balance found in the cup. Fresh off the grind we smell sweet cocoa and caramel notes. First sips are equally sweet and caramely, and as the coffee begins to cool we are tasting apple and grape. Bright, sweet, balanced and very approachable. Enjoy!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable. The below information provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey, and where this lot falls within our relationship chart.
