Grape Jolly Ranchers are not typically the first thing that comes to mind when asked how we'd describe a coffee from Huehue, but this lot from producers surrounding the town of Chicol makes us think just that - grape candy. We were pleasantly surprised by the intense sweetness in the fragrance when cupping this lot and the cup followed through with fruit notes of bosc pear and grape, with some florals and honey thrown in for good measure. Most producers in the department of Santa Barbara grow less than 1 hectare of coffee, and it is often sold to coyotes (middlemen). So we are excited to see this lot (and others) separated and purchased by a highly respected importer. We hope this relationship continues to blossom and that Sweet Bloom continues to be a small part of it.
