You may have noticed it's been awhile since we've offered a coffee from Central America. That's because most coffees from this region sold between January and April have grown tired and, to us, do not taste fresh. So we are always delighted to welcome back the first new crop from Central America, and this year's winner is a lovely selection from producer Alejandro Laínez!  His farm, Chejoj, overlooks the San Pedro Necta Valley, in the prestigious growing region of Huehuetenango. We love coffees from Huehue for their bright, often malic acidities and bountiful sweetness.  Alejandro's lot boasts notes of apple crisp, grapes and marzipan - while striking a fantastic balance between acidity, mouthfeel and sweetness.  A tasty start to the new crop Central America season for sure!
