Another chance to try the bourbon ají variety!
We taste
grape, peach, guava
...in this coffee.
If you sadly missed out on our first ever offering of a bourbon ají variety (Herman Salazar), then here’s another chance, this time from producer Arbey Cordoba. Arbey (know locally as Don Arbey), has been working in coffee for over two decades. Recently, he turned his focus to specialty coffee, and we are very glad he did!
Fresh off the grind, this ají bursts with ripe fruit aromatics like concord grape. The grape carries over into the cup as well and is joined by stone fruit notes like ripe peach and tropical fruit notes reminiscent of guava. There are a lot of beautiful things going on with this coffee, firmly placing the bourbon ají as one of our top varieties ever – competing with the likes of gesha, chiroso and pink bourbon. Don’t miss out on this chance to to try this up and coming heavy hitter within the specialty coffee world!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
