Our story

Before coffee, Andy Sprenger and his wife, Laurel, worked in wetland conservation in Lebanon, tracking birds and sharpening skills in observation—skills Andy later translated into the sensory world of coffee. After returning to the U.S. in 2003, he joined Ceremony Coffee in Maryland, rising from barista to award-winning roaster, earning two U.S. Brewers Cup titles, a World Brewers Cup runner-up finish, and an Aeropress championship. A decade later, he returned to his Colorado roots to open Sweet Bloom in Lakewood, where roasting, sourcing, and storytelling were at the heart of the experience.

Meanwhile in nearby Arvada, Eric Yochim, with a background in fine dining and hospitality, had started Two Rivers Coffee in 2010, bringing a hospitality-forward approach to the cafe world. He and Andy became friends, united by a love of craft and the human stories behind each coffee. In 2019, they officially joined forces under the Sweet Bloom name.

Today, Andy focuses on sourcing and quality at origin, while Eric leads the cafes, sharing stories and cultivating a strong service culture. Together, they’ve built a thoughtful, producer-focused coffee company rooted in quality and care.

Our values

Generous
Hospitality

Hospitality is the embodiment of Generosity. It’s the act of sharing what we love with others with an open heart and a willingness to enrich their lives.

creativity

Embracing creativity spurs innovation. We think deeply about what we are doing, how we do it, and strive to break free from the norms that can hold us back.

excellence

Excellence is our guiding principle to ensure how we care for the world, our coffee, and our community is always done with the utmost integrity and respect.

Part of how we live that out is by giving 1% of our sales revenue back to the communities where we live, work, source coffee.
