Augusto Castillo
From $23.00
comfort coffee to start your day off right
We taste
caramel, pear, maple syrup
...in this coffee.
For many years we have partnered with Augusto and shared lots from two of his farms, MiraCerros and Colomba. But this special selection comes from the family’s other farm Palmira, just down the road from MiraCerrros. As with all of Augusto’s coffee, we love the deep sweetness we are finding – perhaps made just that much sweeter because of the bourbon variety.
Fresh off the grind we are smelling intense caramel notes. In the cup a lovely pear note can be found from hot to cold with apple shining through in the background. Like we said, the sweetness is BIG – some of our team describing it as agave, others maple syrup. If you are looking for a colder weather comfort coffee to start your day off right, this sweet bourbon lot will delight.
Transparency Information
We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
