It’s the most wonderful blend of the year! Winter Bloom is back just in time to help celebrate the holiday season. As always, we create Winter Bloom to be a crowd pleaser – to be enjoyed together as you gather with friends and family.

This year’s blend begins with a 50% base of Augusto Castillos lot 08, from his farm MiraCerros. Augusto’s coffee adds chocolaty depth and deeply sweet flavors of nougat. The rest of the blend is evenly divided (16.6% each) by three other coffees from Ethiopia, Habtamu Fikadu, Gidey Hagos, and our award winning Hambela lot. The Fikadu is washed and boosts sweetness and brightness. Gidey Hagos, a natural, adds dried fruit notes and chocolate, and the Hambela completes the blend by boosting the dark fruit notes and complexity.

As always, we wish you a very special holiday season and trust that Winter Bloom will help make this time just that much more special.

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
