Ngozi, Burundi
Rama Women’s Assn.
From $22.75
A fully women produced lot!
We taste
milk chocolate, mission fig, plum
...in this coffee.
Our first and only offering from Burundi this year comes from the RAMA Women’s Association. Through many challenges and setbacks, this group now owns and farms their own land, which is very uncommon within Burundi. Their persistence and determination shows in their agricultural practices as well. Expert picking, drying and sorting has led to some pretty fantastic results and we are excited to share this natural processed lot with you.
Just after grinding, the aromatics are sweet and reminiscent of a blend of dried fruits. In the cup, a milk chocolate midtone plays nicely with darker fruit notes of mission fig and plum. There is a lot to like about this coffee. If you love naturally processed coffee, grab a bag before this small lot is gone!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
