Join us this summer for the first ever Sweet Bloom Games!
As much as we have enjoyed going head to head, showing off our best latte art skills, we’ve decided to hang up our milk pitchers and chase something fresh.
Enter The Sweet Bloom Games- a very unserious and silly competition designed to bring our community together and emphasize fun! We wanted to create something that would celebrate a broader range of skill and give out way more prizes. Less risk, more reward!
Featuring 6 competitions, each will be played 1 vs. 1 with a winner every round. Some of these events focus on coffee skills and knowledge, while others are just downright playtime.
Every attendee can stand in line to play as many games and as many times as you’d like! There is no limit.
Each ticket will allow for entry as a spectator or a player, and includes drinks.
Here are the 6 games that will be played:
Drip Don’t Drop
- Competition: Obstacle course
- Goal: Carry 2 cups of drip coffee to your “guests” spilling as little as possible
How You Brewing?
- Competition: Compulsory pour over brewing
- Goal: Brew the best cup (flavor & body) of the given coffee on your chosen brewer in 10 minutes
Sensational Senses
- Competition: Blind tasting of flavor infusions- all on the SCA flavor wheel
- Goal: Correctly identify the most flavors & in the least amount of time
Dial & Dash
- Competition: Compulsory espresso dialing
- Goal: Pull the best (flavor balance) shot of espresso in 6 minutes
Best Taste Buds
- Competition: Triangulations; 3 sets of 3
- Goal: Correctly identify the most correct bowls & in the least amount of time
Buzzer Trivia
- Competition: 7 trivia questions asked and answered with a buzzer
- Goal: Buzz in the most correct answers first
