Education & Training Manager Description

EDUCATION & TRAINING MANAGER POSITION DESCRIPTION
In our ongoing pursuit to ​​connect and care for the community around beautiful coffee, we are looking for an Education & Training Manager to lead the future of our world class education program. You will work closely with our own cafe teams, wholesale partners, coffee professionals, and the general public to maintain current education pathways and lead the Sweet Bloom Educational platform to new heights. Applicants must have curriculum writing experience and at least 2 years of experience as a lead trainer/educator within a cafe/roastery setting.

COMPENSATION:
$60,000 – $65,000 starting salary based on experience

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build upon and maintain current educational pathways
  • Provide vision and leadership for the future of Sweet Bloom Coffee Education Programs.
  • Develop a full catalog of coffee education curriculum.
  • Conduct educational classes in cafes and in the Sweet Bloom Training Lab.
  • Maintain and enhance communication channels with all departments and cafe locations.
  • Quality Control in all Sweet Bloom Cafes
  • Recipe development and collaboration
  • Onboarding and Training of new team members
  • Industry Engagement
  • Produce quarterly key reports and performance indicators
  • Qualifications

  • Highly self motivated
  • Motivated to help others grow in their coffee knowledge and career.
  • Leads through service to others.
  • Excellent barista and hospitality skills in alignment with Sweet Bloom standards
  • Clear, effective communication, both written and verbal, one on one and in group settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and passion for each aspect of work
  • Scheduling and organizational skills in Google Drive, Slack, Trainual, Eventbrite, and Website.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and lead.
  • Communicates promptly, effectively, and honestly.
  • Creative and logical in problem solving.
  • Takes initiative in the further development of Sweet Bloom, continually striving to maintain healthy and effective relationships with other staff.
  • Gives and receives feedback using constructive methods.
  • Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Employees are frequently required to stand for long periods of time, crouch, kneel, walk, reach and twist.
  • Employees are expected to use a keyboard or touchscreen device.
  • Employees are occasionally required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally employees may be required to work more than 40 hours in a week to complete the required work.
  • The work environment is a retail environment directly interacting with customers and the general public.
  • The work atmosphere is moderately paced with regular times of heavy customer volume and work demand.
  • Noise levels are generally moderate with regular occurrences of moderate to high volume.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
