Come and hear about coffee production from Jhonny Alvarado (Corazon de Jesus) and the business of coffee imports from Perry Czoop (Selva Coffee), while tasting an amazing coffee from Corazon de Jesus, Costa Rica.

Jhonny Alvarado is 24 years old and is a second generation coffee producer that works alongside his father and family at Corazon de Jesus. He has been a key figure since 2015, when they started. He oversees the farms, processing of cherry, cupping, and exporting, bringing a youthful and innovative vision to the family project. In 2024, along with his sister, they founded Entico Coffee Roasters, a space created to share the family’s passion for coffee from a different perspective. For Jhonny, one of the most important things in the specialty coffee industry is being able to share with different people, learn from their experiences, and continue to grow through exchange and constant improvement.

Perry Czoop is a coffee professional with nearly 2 decades of experience. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona where he got his start. He has been living in Tarrazu, Costa Rica with his family for the past decade. He has worked in every facet of coffee production, barista, store manager, catering services, roasting, competing, consulting, and now exporting with Selva. One of his favorite things is sharing his knowledge and passion of coffee with others.
