Another pink bourbon gem!
We taste
fruit punch, pomegranate, sugarcane
...in this coffee.
If we were stranded on a desert island with one variety and process of coffee, we’d probably want it to be a washed pink bourbon. There’s just something about these coffees that tick all the boxes – from intensely sweet aromatics, loads of fruit without ferment, big body, mouthwatering acidity, and sweetness for days.
That’s why we are stoked to share another stellar pink bourbon lot, this time from producer Carlos Guamanga! Carlos along with his wife Patricia, grow this gem on their farm El Recuerdo, high in the hills above the town of Pitalito. Fresh off the grind, the room fills with intensely sweet, fruit punch like aromatics. A variety of fruit notes persist in the cup ranging from pomegranate to cherry, and even a hint of watermelon. Add to this a heavier body, sugarcane sweetness throughout, and its hard to find a more complete and delicious cup of coffee. This lot is small – grab some before it is gone!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
