We taste

cola, peach, pink lady

...in this coffee.

This is our first time offering a selection from the Chinchiquilla growing group and we are delighted with how good this first lot arrived! The group is named after one of the protected cloud forests in the district of San Ignacio, known for its rich biodiversity. Starting with a group of 18 growers, it has grown to 30 individual producers.

Just off the grind the aromatics are intensely sweet, reminiscent of cola. The prevalent sweetness carries over into the cup as well and is joined by juicy peach and crisp apple notes like pink lady. Definitely hitting current favorite status for us here at Sweet Bloom so you’ll want to grab a bag before we drink it all!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
