We taste

rainier cherry, white peach, toffee

...in this coffee.

We are excited to once again share with you a gem from the Flor de Corazón growing group in northern Oaxaca! Flor de Corazón is a type of magnolia flower, endemic to the region. Used for medicinal purposes, it can be found in botanical gardens throughout the area. The beauty and importance of this flower makes it a fitting name for the group that produces some of the best coffee Mexico has to offer.

This year’s lot is full of lovely fruit notes. Fresh off the grind we are finding intensely sweet aromatics. In the cup we are tasting everything from rainier cherry to ripe white peach. Add to this a toffee like sweetness and medium full body and you’ll find yourself with a very tasty and balanced cup of coffee. If you’ve loved our offerings from Central America this year, this one just might be your favorite. Enjoy!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
