We taste

cola, mandarin, apple cider

...in this coffee.

Guillermo is pretty new to the game of growing coffee. Originally cultivating only corn and brown beans on his farm, Nanegal, he saw a future in coffee. Seven years ago he took the risk of converting his farm to coffee and the risk paid off! We are happy to be able to share with you the fruit of Guillermo’s hard work!

This specific coffee is from the Sidra variety, which is known for big sweetness. Guillermo’s lot does not disappoint and fresh off the grind you will smell aromatics of sweet cola and hints of flowers. The cola sweetness carries over into the cup as well and is joined by notes of mandarin and apple cider.  For a newcomer to growing coffee, Guillermo’s program is strong and if you are looking for a coffee with loads of sweetness, heavier body, lively acidity and wonderful balance, this coffee will not disappoint!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
