Oaxaca, Mexico
Hermenegildo Marin
From $22.75
We welcome back another gem from Hermenegildo Marin!
We taste
soft floral, chocolate, plum
...in this coffee.
As we wrap up the season of coffees from Central America we are happy to offer this small lot from Hermenegildo Marin. Hermenegildo has been cultivating coffee from an early age and inherited his parents farm, Árboles de Guajes. His sons help with pruning, planting, renovations, and shade control, and his wife, Aurelia, helps with harvesting and drying. In the past few years he has turned his attention to quality and his efforts are clearly paying off.
After grinding, you find sweet floral and chocolate aromatics. As with last year’s selection from Hermenegildo, the cup has a lovely layered mouthfeel and you will find dark fruit notes like plum accompanying a mid-tone of milk chocolate. Sweet, balanced and just a lovely example of the best that Oaxaca offers!
Transparency Information
We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
