We taste

floral, cherry, lemonade

...in this coffee.

Jose grew up on a coffee farm, but at the young age of 16 left his home to become a bus driver. He spent the next ten years learning the roads of his beautiful country, but the call of home and the desire for a more stable life, eventually drew him back to his roots. Jose purchased his father’s farm, El Casino, where his innovation and passion for excellence has led to some very tasty results.

This pink bourbon is simply delicious. Fresh off the grind we are smelling lovely floral and cherry candy aromatics. In the cup we taste notes of cherry, and pink lemonade all wrapped up in a resonating sugarcane sweetness. We’ve always been big fans of the pink bourbon variety and this special lot from Jose reminds us why!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
