La Danta
A sweet, chocolaty and balanced gem!
We taste
brownie batter, plum, maple syrup
...in this coffee.
La Danta is our first new coffee offering for 2024 and it is hard to think of a better way to kick off the new year than with this perennial gem! The La Danta group is made up of about 75 producers, and is named after the endangered Andean Tapir, which can be found roaming the hillsides of northern Cajamarca, Peru.
This is our fourth year offering a lot from La Danta and we are impressed once again with the quality they continue to deliver! Fresh off the grind the aromatics are intensely sweet and chocolaty. In the cup a milk chocolate mid-tone resonates throughout and is joined by dark fruit notes like plum and cherry, all wrapped around a maple syrup sweetness. Really tasty coffee – get some!

Transparency Information
We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
