La Danta
From $23.25
La Danta is back!
We taste
cherry, nougat, plum
...in this coffee.
The La Danta group is made up of about 75 producers, and is named after the endangered Andean Tapir, which can be found roaming the hillsides of northern Cajamarca, Peru. Among other environmentally conscious efforts, the group is also organically certified.
This is our fifth year offering a special selection from La Danta and once again it will be among our favorite coffees of the year! Fresh off the grind the aromatics hint towards nougat and chocolate. Notes of cherry and ripe plum predominate in the cup and are wrapped up in an almond toffee sweetness. Complex, sweet, and no doubt, we’ll be drinking our fair share here at Sweet Bloom!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
