La Danta
sweet with lovely florals and cherry
We taste
cherry nibs, white peach, toffee
...in this coffee.
This lot marks the third year we’ve purchased coffee from the La Danta group. No doubt, this is the best selection yet and we’ll be drinking our fair share here at Sweet Bloom! La Danta, a group of about 75 producers, is named after the endangered Andean Tapir which can be found roaming the hillsides of northern Cajamarca. Not only does this group care for the sustainability of their natural environment, they also clearly care for the quality of coffee they are producing.
The aromatics fresh off the grind are intensely sweet with lovely florals and cherry. Cherry (think Cherry Nibs) comes through in the cup as well and is joined by a white peach acidity and toffee like sweetness. So good! Grab a bag and get your new year off to one fantastic start!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
