Ethiopia
Migration 7.1
Great for cold brew, drip or espresso!
We taste
blackberry, peach, honeydew
...in this coffee.
The name Migration is definitely tied to our love for birds. And just as many birds arrive in the spring and leave in the fall, so does Migration, a blend we create for the warmer time of year, to be fantastic for cold brew. The blend also changes over time and we are stoked to now offer version 7.1!
We’ve always believed coffees from Ethiopia are exceptional for cold brew. So to be able to make 7.1 out of two killer single producer lots from Ethiopia is about as good as it gets. The washed component at 60% of the blend comes from Bekele Gemeda in Yirgacheffe. The natural component at 40%, comes from Ismael Aredo in Guji. Bekele’s coffee on its own is honey sweet with notes of peach and a pleasant citric acidity. Ismael’s lot is full of dark fruits and dark chocolate.
Together, we are finding berries and chocolate in the aromatics, and tasting notes of blackberry, peach and honeydew. If you are thinking, dang, this sounds good as espresso or drip, you are not wrong. No matter how you brew it in the end, if you like coffees from Ethiopia, its hard to go wrong with Migration 7.1!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
