Migration 8.0 is here!

We taste

mixed berries, red grape, milk chocolate

...in this coffee.

We’re not sure about the rest of the US, but here in Colorado bird migration was drawn out and in some ways quite behind other years. So it seems fitting that the launch of Migration 8.0 is also a few weeks behind when it is normally launched. Traditionally the blend is heavy on coffees from East Africa and we especially like to use coffees from Ethiopia. We are stoked to finally have two lovely coffees from Ethiopia arrive just in time to make up this blend. As always, look for Migration to be your go to for cold brew for the next five or six months, and as always, it is killer for espresso and drip!

The first coffee, Kolla Bolcha (at 70%), is a lovely washed lot from Jimma. This lot brings big sweetness, heavier body, and a milk chocolate mid-tone to the blend. The second selection, Gore Kone (at 30%) is a natural from Sidamo. Gore Kone adds the darker fruit notes of berries and red grape. Together, these two coffees makes for some sweet, delicate and nuanced cold brew that is sure to make you smile on the hottest days of the year. Enjoy!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
