Edwin Martinez

Our longest standing relationship coffee.

This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

We taste

caramel apple, white grape, nougat

...in this coffee.

We are proud to say that Edwin Martinez’s coffee was the first relationship coffee we offered when we opened 10 years ago. Edwin and Andy first met at an SCA event ~15 years ago and have been friends ever since. Edwin was responsible for introducing us to Augusto Castillo, and we are honored to once again share a lot from his amazing farm, Finca Vista Hermosa.  Edwin is a third generation producer, and his grandfather is going strong at age 104. Amazing.

This year’s selection from FVH is sweet, balanced and delicious. Freshly ground, we are smelling aromatics of caramel and a hint of nougat. In the cup you will find notes of crisp apple and white grape.  This will be one of the last offerings from Central America for the year so grab some before we say goodbye until next spring!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
