We taste

silver needles, clementine, sugarcane

...in this coffee.

For some of you, Pablo Guerrero might be a familiar name, as we used to purchase and share his incredible gesha selections. What’s great for Pablo is that a few years back, one of his washed gesha lots won The Cup of Excellence! The fact that he won was not a big surprise and we were really happy for him and this accomplishment.  But we also knew that this might mean access to future gesha lots would be harder to come by, which they were, and that’s OK.

So when we recently had the opportunity to revisit some of his other offerings, we were happy to taste a yellow bourbon that was absolutely delish! Now we are super stoked to welcome back Pablo and share this sugary gem with you!

Fresh off the grind the aromatics are wonderfully sweet and floral. The bourbon variety in general is known for its sweetness, and this particular lot exhibits this so beautifully in every sip! Add to this an elegant body wrapped around flavor notes of silver needles and juicy clementine and lets just say we will be drinking our fair share here at Sweet Bloom. We don’t have a lot, so grab a bag quick!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
