An absolute stunner from our friend Rigoberto Herrera!

We taste

pineapple, blackberry, passion fruit, rosé

...in this coffee.

Last year we celebrated our ten year anniversary by sharing one of our favorite coffees of all time, a washed gesha from Rigo’s famed farm, Cerro Azul. This year we are excited to offer another absolute stunner, a natural processed gesha from one of Rigo’s other farms, Las Margaritas!

Rigo’s impact on the specialty coffee industry over the years is nothing short of extraordinary and no doubt, Sweet Bloom wouldn’t be what it is today without Rigo’s support. As always, it is an honor to share one of his coffees with you.

Fresh off the grind, this lot from Las Margaritas fills the room with intoxicating tropical fruit and wine-like aromatics. From hot to cold the flavor notes reveal themselves in layers. With one sip you’ll taste tropical fruit notes like pineapple and passion fruit, the next, blackberry, and the next, soft fermented notes of rosé wine. This coffee is beautifully complex and a wonderful expression of all that makes Rigo’s coffees some of the finest in the world. Whether you are treating yourself, or are looking for a special gift for the coffee lover in your life, this gem will not disappoint!

We buy, roast, and sell coffee. On a surface level, this sounds simple enough. But buying coffee in a way we are proud of and in a way that those who buy our coffee are proud of is often complex, challenging, and hard work. We find ourselves on a continuum of buying and selling that progresses towards more sustainable, meaningful and equitable relationships. The chart below provides basic information for each lot on where we are on this journey.
